About southernramblings.com

Hey ya’ll!! Welcome to Southern Ramblings.

Southern Ramblings is a lifestyle blog where I share my “expertise” in fashion, beauty, food, family, home remodeling, and more! Ha! I’m just funnin’ ya! I’m no expert, I just want to share with you my experiences on what works in life and definitely what doesn’t. No sense in both of us screwing up along the way. Learn from my mistakes to save you from making the same ones, as well as pick up some tips from my successes!

As women,  we seem to all share similar questions and wonders of life. I want to share with ya’ll my answers to those questions. The tough questions, like, What am I going to cook for dinner, that my kids will actually eat? What looks good on my body? Should I change my hair color? ( That’s always a yes for me!) Along with all those questions we tend to ask ourselves as women on a regular basis.

A little bit about me

My name is Britney and I’m a beauty school drop out.  No, just kidding, kinda! I actually did graduate cosmetology school, I just didn’t do anything with it. Unless of course, you count the “side work” I do on occasion. The cousin that wants their hair done, the haircuts for my kids so I don’t have to wait for hours in line at the ONLY barbershop in our town, or the ever-changing hair color I do on myself. I still enjoy all things hair, makeup and fashion related. I just didn’t pursue a career in it. (Currently kicking myself a little for that!)

Aside from the beauty stuff, I’m a mom to some pretty terrific, if not bratty, boys. Ages 7 and 9 months. Like night and day these two. I’m thankful enough that they aren’t picky eaters. Well, the oldest, the youngest is still bottle and baby food fed. Easy enough there. But, even tho the oldest isn’t picky, I still try to find new and yummy recipes so we aren’t eating the same thing over and over. Except for spaghetti. Who gets tired of spaghetti?

So, while doing the mom stuff, and dabbling in the beauty stuff, on top of working full time, I also like my lil cricut machine and sewing. Whew, the hats that I wear. I like to think we are all pretty versatile tho. I’m quite certain God did not put us on this earth to enjoy ONE category!

That being said, if you’re anything like me, and have many “hats”, I hope you’ll stick around.  I’d love to show you the tricks and tips on remodeling on a budget, finding new recipes, all the beauty and fashion topics, and even a few pinterest fails along the way.

Thanks for stopping by. I can’t wait to get to talk to you some more!
